THE CITY OF CHESTER

The City of Chester has been a centre of trade and culture throughout history, a River Port and Fortress in the Roman period, a thriving Trade and Culture centre in Modern Banking and Aerospace today in the reign of Elizabeth The Second.

Roman camps and Fortresses number many throughout England, many of the sites are identifiable in modern England. The word Cester, Roman for camp is incorporated as a part of many United Kingdom Town and City names.

Preservation has been unique through the centuries, Roman Walls, Amphitheater and River Port are very much in evidence. The Tudor Period has left fine examples of that era, the Exclusive “Rows”, The Cathedral, Northgate Street, Watergate Street and much more have had a continuous asset value throughout hundreds of years and today form an important part of the daily used City heritage.
